Looking for affordable ride sharing to your next big city destination? Say no more, Hitch is here!
You’re traveling to a new place, perhaps on vacation or maybe even a business trip. You’ re in City A and need to get to City B; however, you don’t have any means of transportation to get there. While car rentals are an available option, you don’t really want to bother with the hassle of having to go back to where you started your trip just to return the car. Public transports are often overcrowded and nauseating. Finally, when it comes to long distance travel, Uber, Lyft, and taxi rates tend to start looking very pricey. In addition, often times these ride sharing services run on a stop and go basis, thus incredibly inefficient. The situation becomes an undesirable trade-off: sacrifice comfort for affordability or affordability for comfort. At the end of the day, the damage has already been done and your trip has been ruined by bad experience with transportation.
To challenge the vast inefficiencies of the current system, UT Austin students Kush Singh and Tanuj Girish developed Krew (now known as Hitch). While ride sharing titans Uber and Lyft battle for travel domination within cities, Hitch prospects to dominate city to city travel. Unlike conventional ride sharing companies, the focus of Hitch is long-distance ride sharing travel. Furthermore, Hitch solves all of the issues with long-hauls mentioned above. With seats starting at lows of $20, a policy of no middle seating, and extensive open scheduling windows, its services are respectively affordable, comfortable, and reliable.
Thanks to UT Austin’s Longhorn Startup Genesis Program, today Hitch services rides to and from every major city in Texas. On your mobile phone it’s a simple swipe on the Hitch App to hitch a ride to your next destination.
